Mental Health
Coordinator (MHC)
In accordance with section 1006.07(6)(b), Florida Statutes, each Florida K-12 district is required to appoint a Mental Health Coordinator (MHC) to oversee student mental health policies and services. The MHC ensures effective delivery of mental health resources within schools and communicates with parents about additional support options from community providers. As the primary point of contact for mental health matters, the MHC plays a vital role in ensuring students' well-being.

District Threat Management Coordinator (DTMC)
Simultaneously, in accordance with section 1006.07(7)(j), Florida Statutes, each district school board shall establish a District Threat Management Coordinator (DTMC) to manages the district's threat response programs. They coordinate safety efforts across all schools, ensuring potential threats are addressed and reported to the Office of Safe Schools. The DTMC leads the Threat Management Team, comprising law enforcement, counseling experts, and school administrators, to maintain a secure school environment.
